Saddle Stitch Binding

Available for 8 to 96 pages

Saddle stitching is a traditional method of folding multiple sheets together to create a spine, then stapling the product through the spine to hold the pages in place.

Perfect Binding

Available for 48 to 96 pages

Perfect binding is generally used for thicker catalogs with more pages. Once the sheets are gathered and folded, the cover is glued along the binding edge, resulting in a flat spine.

Self Cover or Plus Cover

Find the right paper combination for your brand.

Choose from multiple premium paper stocks, including glossy, uncoated, and recycled matte. We also offer the option of self cover (using the same paper for the interior pages and cover) or plus cover (using a heavier stock for the cover).

Frequently Asked Questions

What are catalogs and booklets used for?

A thoughtful, carefully-designed custom catalog can be a highly persuasive marketing tool. After all, it’s hard to resist picking up and flipping through a full-color catalog filled with beautiful and inspirational imagery. Whether you are interested in distributing a miniature booklet to highlight your bestselling products or services, a special-edition holiday catalog, or a corporate magazine, our custom printing services can help you create the perfect catalog for your brand.

What are the benefits of MoshiWEB's catalog printing service?

When it comes to catalog printing, choosing MoshiWEB to print and assemble your catalogs can be one of the best investments you’ll make for your company. Our branded catalogs and custom booklets are professionally created and reasonably priced. We can accommodate projects from small 8-page booklets to hefty 96-page catalogs. Your full-color catalog will be beautifully printed using today’s most innovative offset printing equipment, and we have three state-of-the-art printing facilities to ensure that your order is processed quickly and efficiently.

If you have already designed your catalog, you can directly upload your file and choose between 3 proof options. Our instantly processed proof (available for catalogs with stitch binding) allows you to preview your catalog design on the spot. If everything looks good, just place your order and we’ll send it straight to print. You can also have us manually review your file to make sure it has been set up correctly for print. If you want to inspect a physical copy of your catalog before you print a large volume order, we can send you a hard copy proof for an additional fee.

How do I print my own custom catalogs?

We’ve worked hard to create a catalog ordering process that is user-friendly and accessible for all of our customers. Our website gives you two ways to create your catalogs. If you have a completed design, simply select your preferences and upload your file.

If you don’t have an existing design, you can use our Online Designer tool to create your booklet or catalog. This free design feature allows you to choose everything from backgrounds to text and graphics for your booklet. We’ve included multiple themes to meet the needs of many specific industries, including Auto Services, Beauty and Wellness, Education, Real Estate and Restaurants.

What is the best size for a catalog?

The best size for your catalog will depend on multiple factors, including the intended use, budget, and amount of content. The standard, most popular size for full-size catalogs is 8.5″ x 11″. Other popular sizes include 5.5” x 8.5” and 6” x 9” for smaller booklets or price catalogs.

How much does it cost to print a custom catalog?

Our catalog printing prices start at just $101.28 for 100 8-page booklets (5.5″ x 8.5″) printed on 100 lb. Gloss Book paper. No matter which size or paper stock you choose, you can count on high-quality catalogs at competitive prices.

What is the difference between saddle stitching and perfect binding?

Saddle stitch binding is the most popular binding method for booklets and catalogs with fewer than 100 pages. During this process, the printed pages are stacked on top of each other and stapled together along the fold line to create a spine. The perfect binding method is often required for catalogs with a higher number of pages (the exact number depends on the thickness of the paper used). A perfect bound catalog means that the catalog pages have been gathered together and a heavy-duty glue has been applied along the edge. The catalog cover is then placed around the pages and held in place by the glue. This process results in a flat spine. We offer saddle stitch binding for catalogs that are between 8 to 96 pages, and perfect binding for catalogs that are between 48 to 96 pages.

What type of paper should I use for my catalogs?

For standard, mass-produced catalogs, our 100 lb. gloss book paper is one of our most popular stocks. This durable stock has a beautiful sheen that will make your images appear lively and bright. If you prefer a softer, more vintage look for your catalogs, we recommend the 80 lb. recycled matte text. For the cover, choose between self-cover (using the same paper for your cover and interior pages), 100 lb. gloss cover, 14 pt. gloss cover, or 100 lb. recycled matte cover.

Can you send me samples of the catalog paper stocks you offer?

o check out our print and paper quality before you order, please request a FREE sample kit. Each kit contains a variety of paper samples to help you pick the stock and coating that’s just right for your catalogs.

I would like to print my own catalog / magazine. How do I send you the design files?

If you are printing your own catalog design, please combine all your pages into a single PDF file. The pages should be in numerical order so we can create the spreads accordingly. You can also upload a zip (compressed) folder containing all your PDF files. The files should be named according to their corresponding pages (e.g. Page 1 Front Cover, Page 2, Page 12 Back Cover, etc.)

Our maximum upload file is 75 megabytes. If your catalog file is larger, you can mail us a CD or flash drive containing your files. (Mailing instructions and address are displayed as part of the ordering process if you indicate you prefer to mail in your files.) Files should be in TIF, TIFF, EPS, AI, PSD, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, or PDF format. Files should be in CMYK mode to ensure accurate color output with a minimum resolution of 350 dpi.

Do I need to add a bleed to my catalog file?

Yes, please make sure your catalog files are prepared with a 0.125″ bleed. For your convenience, we offer downloadable catalog templates that are clearly marked with the safe zone, trim line, and bleed line. All crucial elements (copy, photos, graphics, logos, etc.) should be within the safe zone of the template, so they are not cut off. The trim line shows where the pages will be cut, and the bleed refers to the part that will be trimmed off. If you are incorporating background images, please make sure they extend all the way to the bleed line, so that the backgrounds extend to the edge of the pages.

How long will it take to print my catalog order?

Our production time for catalogs varies depending on the number of pages and type of binding. For example, production will take 3 to 5 business days for 100 5.5″ x 8.5″ 8-page booklets printed on 100 lb. gloss book paper with self-cover. Printing 500 8.5″ x 11″ 48-page, perfect-bound catalogs on recycled paper will take 11 to 13 business days. For the most accurate production time, please select your size, paper type, desired number of pages and preferred binding method and we’ll display the production time for your order.

Production time begins a day after you have approved your proof and your payment is processed. If your order is approved and payment is processed by 9AM PT/ 11AM CT/ 12PM ET, then the production time begins that day. Depending on the shipping method you choose, please allow at least 2 to 6 business days for your print catalogs to arrive to their destination.
